Written and directed by Christopher Smith, Triangle is a horror- thriller movie in which the characters are stuck in the time loop. By far, this is one of the most interesting horror movies of 2009 considering from the story telling point of view.

Triangle starts with a very straightforward story. The yacht journey goes wrong when all the travellers are stuck in between the way of an oncoming storm. The storm is too heavy to handle and thus the yacht is ripped apart. Somehow the fellow travellers, with loss of just one member, are able to survive the stormy night. The next morning, to everyone’s surprise, they find a big old ship passing by them. It is their only hope of survival. But things turn nasty as soon as they board on that ship. Fellow passengers begin to die one by one as a masked killer is on a shooting spree killing one after another. Jess, the last survivor of the group is finally able to kill the masked killer. Till this part (it is just half of the movie) of Triangle, the story is pretty ordinary. Now, the story goes back to the beginning of the movie and we once again have a re-run of the story but certainly from a different perspective. This is where the movie becomes more interesting.

This horror flick has nothing extraordinary to offer. It is a simple horror movie with a pretty straightforward story until the story started to get twisted with the whole story starting all over again in flashback. Though the story has no interesting elements in it, yet the way it is presented made it quite interesting. Characters stuck in a time loop, the same incidents taking place from an entirely different perspective – are few notable ingredients of this flick. The characters are well developed by Christopher Smith and Melissa George gave a good performance in the roll of Jess. Though the entire movie revolves around a ship, most of the sequences are shoot inside a set (indoors). The action sequences in certain parts are quite lame and looked quite amateurish. And even usages of special effects are not that appealing. However, in spite of all these, Triangle can solely survive on its storyline. The story might not scare you that much, but definitely it will make you think twice.
