Download Torrent Files from the Internet

Here comes the procedure/ techniques on how to download torrent files from the internet. First of all, you have to get a bit familiarised  with the concept of torrent as well as internet download. By following the under mentioned methods, I am hopeful that you will be able to download files using torrent.

You will find plenty of sites from where you can search for downloadable files of your favourite movies, music, mp3, games, software, e-books and what not. The few popular torrent sites are torrentz, the Pirate Bay, Mininova, Bittorrent etc. (or you can just google the word ‘torrent’ and enjoy). You also need to download a client for downloading the torrent files. The torrent client, which I prefer can be downloaded from Utorrent. It is less than 300KB in size and can be installed on your computer with a blink of an eye.

Once the client (in this case say ‘utorrent’) has been installed on your machine, all you need to do is search for the torrent on various torrent sites. Now I will only write about www.torrentz.com (Yes, it is my fav) but most the torrent sites are very similar to one another. Open this site in your browser; you will find a search option at the top of the page.

Put a name of a file say a movie (e.g. Titanic) and then click on the “Search All Torrents”. The site will search automatically for all the best possible available option with the keyword ‘Titanic’ and will display the search result(s) on the next page.

See above the search results of the movie Titanic. The www.torrentz.com site was able to find out 253 files with the matching keywords. Most of files available in different torrent sites for free download have longer names, which includes a small description about the file.

Generally the first name of the file is the name of the movie/artist/album etc. After that you will find the year in, which the movie/music album/game etc was released. Then often there is description of the ripping quality e.g. DVD rip, XviD, 720p x 264 etc. and finally at the end it contains the name of the provider of the file. Axxo is one of the oldest and most famous personalities in the field of this file sharing industry.

On the right hand size of the available torrent links, you will find the number of peers and seeders. You should always select the file, which has more peers as the download speed of such files will be much higher. Once you select a particular torrent file, you will be redirected to another page, which displays the link of different torrent site which has the same file for you to download.

This above screenshot displays the various locations (sites) available for downloading the same file. Say you decide to download the Titanic file from www.mininova.org, and then you have to click on the link of the said site. Then you will be directed to site of miniova. Once the page of mininova is loaded, you can directly download the torrent file (a torrent file always comes with .torrent extension) from the site to your computer.

Click on the “Download this torrent” option and the [.torrent] file and save it on the desktop. Once the said torrent file is saved on the desktop, double click on it. If you have already installed the download client (in this case it is utorrent), the torrent file will automatically link up with the download client.

Select the location to where you want your download to be saved and then click “Save As”. Your download will start automatically. You might find this too long to understand, but using and configuring torrent is a very simple job.

Torrent was basically made to make online data transfer easier, but nowadays rapidly used to share movies/music and software all across the globe. Torrents are one of the factors that lead to piracy, yet it is widely accepted and used by the global netizens.
